Second Annual A to Z Thanksgiving Giveaway!

For Thanksgiving, let's play a little game, one we played around the Thanksgiving table when I was a kid. At the end of this post I'll name something starting with an "A" that I'm thankful for. If you're the first to comment, tell us something you're thankful for that starts with an "B." Second comment, something starting with a "C." (I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to figure out the remaining 23 steps!)

Feel free to post as many times as you'd like, but don't post twice in a row. Traffic might be low today since it's a holiday. Can we get to "Z" before the day is through? Let's try!

If you cross-post and more than one person uses the same letter, no problem--it's a good day to be extra-thankful.

And to sweeten the deal...whoever completes our alphabet with "Z" will get some sort of yummy home-baked treat from me. I'll contact you to find out what you'd like. (Be sure I have a way to get in touch with you.)

Remember, no posting twice in a row. I'll plan to come on and post a "Y" comment so that anyone is free to post "Z."

Let's get started!

A: I'm thankful for...
Awesome friends, both in-person and virtual. Happy Thanksgiving to my blog buddies!

I'm thankful for Books, and my ability to read and write them, especially as I've been under the weather for a few weeks. (I'm also thankful for Blogs and the way they let me make new friends all over the world.)

I'm thankful for Cabbage Casserole. Sounds wierd, but it's a family favorite that my G'ma made every year. She passed away in July, so it's extra special to us this year!

Family. I'm thankful for the wonderful family I have been given. Both the family I was born into and the family I have created with my closest friends. Either way, they're all family.

I am thankful for the new HOME that my family will be moving into as of December 1st! And I am thankful for the HOUSE that holds all the memories that our family has made for the past 17 years. And I will go out on a limb and say that I am thankful for the HELP that people will be giving me to actually move next week!
Enjoy the day!

Kings of Leon. I'm really enjoying their new album. Music is always good!

Kritter Keeper. Yep, that's what was on the label. It's keeping Paige's fish, 2, alive and happily away from the 2 cats that like to sit and watch him.

I'm thankful for my fond memories of the aroma that filled our house when Mama's cooked her delicious ROAST, flavored with worchestershire sauce and garlic!

Ooh, we're getting close!! This is my first time on the computer today. If we get to "X" it may take awhile before I come back for the "Y" (unless someone who doesn't care about winning wants to do "Y.") Good luck, all!

Great list so far!

Well, as of an hour ago, it is no longer November 26 in any part of the world ... even at the boundary of the International Date Line, it's now 1 AM on the 27th. But I'm gonna try to put in a comment, anyway!

I'm thankful for the words xi and xu, without which hardcore Scrabble fans would not get nearly as many points.

Okay, everyone, thanks for the patience. :) Don't worry, I'll be awarding the prize to the first "Z" poster even though it's no longer Thursday.

Y: I'm thankful for YELLOW. Isn't it such a happy color? It looks terrible on my skin, but I sure do like walking into a yellow room. I think I'd like to paint our powder bath yellow.

All right, y'all. Bring on the Z.

Too funny - I thought about this post several times yesterday but we were traveling. I didn't even bother checking last night because I was so sure the game was long over. :)

I specifically got out of bed at 2 AM to be the Z. I got online and did everything but become the Z.
Fun game though.

What a great idea! It's a nice twist that I wish I would have been able to join in on. Sorry I missed it, maybe next year!
