Oldies But Goodies: Postpartum

This post, titled "Leave it to a 2-year-old...," was originally posted May 28, 2008, when Zoodle was two months old.

Leave it to a 2-year-old to tell it like it is.

I was laying on my side on the couch yesterday morning, and I guess my shirt was pulled up a bit because Chickie could see my tummy. Keep in mind I'm two months post-partum with my second child. My tummy at this point is definitely worse for the wear.

Chickie grabbed the extra tummy skin and started pulling it from one side to the other. "I'm folding your belly button!" she exclaimed.

"Folding Mommy's belly button"...one of the many games that's a little more fun for her than it is for me.

This is a great word picture, Beth. Well, maybe for the rest of us more than for you. Although, I certainly remember having my own fold-the-belly-button moments when I was post-partem. :)

haha! Now at 9 months post-partum, I think I can STILL relate to this. Yikes!

Hmmm ... three years later and I can still fold the belly button. Not good. Not good at all folks!

LOL! Thank you! For reminding me that there is no need to rush things. My little man is just a few days younger than Zoodle and I catch myself thinking, "I can't wait until he's (fill in next milestone here)". Lately it has been looking forward to him becoming verbal. Perhaps I can wait on that for a bit.

Head hung in shame.
Sadly, I don't have the excuse of pregnancy to explain my folding belly button.
sigh
