There comes a time in every mother's life when she must confront a difficult truth about one of her children. For me that time came yesterday.
I looked at Zoodle and faced the fact that he is...
(insert deep sigh and a couple of sniffles)
...normal.
Remember the post about Zoodle's crazy hair a couple of months back? Well, over the last couple of weeks, his hair has decided to gradually calm down. Yesterday I looked at him, and this is what I saw:
Oh, it's painful to share my heart-rending moment of realization with my readers. There's that hair, laying down against his head like normal hair should do.
I know I should be glad. I know when he's 35 he won't want to have to deal with hair that sticks up as if it's been rubbed by a balloon.
But I loved that quirky part of my boy, and it's a pity to see it gone. I actually liked all the comments from strangers. I liked combing his hair only to see it pop back up as if it were spring-loaded.
As I brace myself for more difficult truths that will confront me as Zoodle grows up, I guess I'll just have to take comfort in his abnormally cute smile, gorgeous eyes, and copious amounts of drool.

He really is GORGEOUS! Killer eyes and smile. Wow!
Andrew sported the 'hawk for the first 8 months or so(more like months 5-8, I think??) and I also loved all the comments and even did pics with it all crazy!! :) How funny!!
He is such a cutie....going to be breaking some hearts in a few years.
awww look at that face!
and believe me, a little blow dry action the wrong way and the hair will be crazy all over again! LOL
Well, just think of it this way: If he still has copious amounts of drool when he's 5, I don't think you'll be thanking your lucky stars....
Don't worry Beth, I've found that they just replace it with something else "abnormal". :-)
I sure see a lot of Ana in him in this picture! How cute!
Awww...while he's just as cute with normal hair, I don't blame you for being a little sad about that! At least you have lots of pictures to look back on.
Abby had crazy stand-straight-out hair until she was 9 months old. I was sooooo sad when it was long enough that it lay flat against her head! I know exactly how you feel!! People used to ask me if I rubbed her head with a balloon to get it that way (because that would be so normal...?)
Look at that DROOL! Oh and the 'normal' hair...it's still long as can be though! :) Adorable.
My first born had stick-up hair. He looked like a startled baby bird still in the nest for at least the first six months. A completely adorable startled baby bird of course.
He's abnormally adorable, Beth!
He has so much hair! Beth doesn't have a quarter of the hair he does. Poor girl!
Your sister's comment cracked me up!
