But recently she's started frequently coming up to me and saying, "Mommy, I need some love." That means she wants to sit curled up on my lap, cuddled against my chest.
I don't know what has caused this new behavior. Maybe she is having some sibling jealousy issues, or maybe her growing independence needs to be balanced by extra cuddles.
Whatever the reason for the change...I like it. I really like it.

Abby is doing the same thing recently - it's fabulous!
Isn't it nice? As an added bonus the other day when I was giving Ellie her cuddles, she told me I was her hero. If only it would last...
Adorable. I have to imagine it's the moments like that which make it all worth it.
Odd! Kate has been doing the same thing ... must be the age. She's never been a snuggly/cuddly kid and all of a sudden she is. She even wants me to lie down in bed with her and snuggle. I'm making up for lost time with all this extra-affection, because I am sure it is short lived!
My daughter liked to sit on my lap occasionally until she was 16 years old!! I never got tired of it, although toward the end, my legs did sometimes lose all feeling. :)
I don't think the need to snuggle ever goes away. I often have this image of God being an enormous man whose lap I can sit on like a child. He holds me and rocks me and strokes my hair. It always makes me feel better.
My 17 year old straddled my knees (the sofa took all the weight, thankfully!) last week - It was a charm of a moment!
SO CUTE!!!! Love that!
Take advantage of that every chance you get! They grow too fast! My son wasn't a cuddler, but he liked sitting on my lap. Didn't last too long, he was growing too tall and my poor legs were going numb!
There are times when we all feel like that - whatever our age!
Daniel has been doing the same for the past few weeks. It almost makes me forget all the horrible tantrums. Almost.
He has also started asking "Just one more hug? Just one more kiss?" It's delightful!
