The answer is, yes, she sells them, for one thousand dollars each.
(Actually, her answer is no, but I'm pretty sure if you offered her a grand, she'd make an exception.)
Just in case that's out of your budget, Mom was kind enough to share information about where you can find the pattern so that you can make your own (or beg/bribe a crafty friend to do it for you.) Go to Cotton Ginny's; it's the "Animal Blanket and Ball" pattern. The cost is $7.75 including U.S. postage. (There is also an adorable "Safari Blankets" pattern if you want to make more exotic animals.)
Note that my mom reduces the pattern to 75% of its original size (at a copy machine, before cutting it out.) I have the original-sized hippo for Chickie and the reduced-size bear for Zoodle, and I definitely like the smaller size better.

I hope I win because I don't want to go through the trouble...but I guess if I had to... ;) Thanks for the tip.
I hear ya on that one. I made Andrew a quilt out of his baby clothes for his first year Christmas gift (really 6 months). I would NEVER, unless for a $1000 - make one for someone else :)
I didn't leave a comment on the original posting because I don't want entering in the draw (got no little ones around at the moment!). But I did want to say how cute they look and how generous your Mum is to offer one as a giveaway.
