"Did you wash your hair?" I asked.
"Yes." She went on to explain to me why it was dirty. "From being outside."
Then she continued, in a matter-of-fact tone.
"So I needed to wash it in the potty."
My parental poker face failed me. I'm hoping my uncontrollable giggles didn't too badly compromise my message as I assured her that washing her hair in the potty is not a good idea.

I think once Asher is able to think up brilliant plans like this and explain them to me, I will have to insert tacks in all of my shoes and never go barefoot again so that when I am most in need of my parental poker face I can stomp on a tack and look very pained when I tell them why the potty is not for hair washing (or my personal favourite, why we don't lick the floor) instead of dissolving into howls of laughter and then try to explain why mommy must go change her underwear. Again.
I think that is the longest run-on sentence I have ever written.
Oh gosh! My poker face would have gone out the window too. At least she is thinking outside the box!
Oh my gosh. Did she wash her hair before or after she flushed? I couldn't keep a straight face either. Check out what Paige did yesterday. Must have been something in the air.
We once went to a restaurant. My mom told me (ages 3) to go to the toilet and wash my hands. As I didn't return for some time she came to look for me and found me in front of the actual toilet, really frustrated. "I can't wash my hand!" I cried, "there isn't enough water in it!" Also, one time I thought I should help my mom with the laundry and washed all of my doll's clothes in the toilet. My mom was not amused! :)
Oh no... She's definitely a creative thinker, I'll give her that. But eww!
That is very, very, very funny.
BAHAHAHAHA!
You mean I can't laugh when my daughter does stuff like this?!
I'm in so much trouble later on...
I laughed and laughed.
Did you rewash her hair?
Love, Miss Etna
HAHAHHAHAHA! I have to say that your stories make my day! I just love reading all the funny things and the serious ones too. I'm a BBC mommy, and I really enjoy your blog!
Oh my! I think you deserve a "mommy keeping my cool" award for laughing instead of freaking out, which is what I would have done!
This is absolutely LAUGH OUT LOUD funny! I'm impressed if you were able to keep your composure AT ALL! :)
OMG! I am literary laughing out loud right now! Your little girl is hilarious!
I swear Kate and Chickie somehow share DNA, because that is something my darling daughter would do ...
Everyday is an adventure with little 'uns! x Thinking of you and yours as ever, C.Beth and hoping Clark is improving and his family are holding up xxx
That is SO funny!!! I love how she said "yeah." At least she totally told the truth!!

Romi--Ha! Your younger self and Chickie would have really gotten into trouble together.
Call Me Cate--Yes, "creative thinker"--what a positive spin!
Becki--I thought you'd like it!
Isabella--Oh, laugh away. There's always time for the serious conversations later, when you get ahold of yourself!
Miss Etna--Yes, I did rewash her hair! I'm not germ-phobic, so it didn't actually occur to me to do so until I called The Engineer and he (wisely) insisted on it!
Jenny--Thank you so much!! I'm really glad you read; I love to hear from BBC mommies!
Deanna--Sometimes I am definitely freaking out! I guess I was in a happy mood, ready to laugh!
Sandra--Oh, I totally did NOT keep my composure; I was laughing so hard I was crying!
Snarky A.--Thank you! I think so, too!
Mama to a diva--Our girls are funny, aren't they?
Lyndsay--From everything I know about Kate, I believe that!
A Woman of No Importance--Unfortunately, Clark passed away last weekend. It sounds like his family is doing well, considering the tragedy of it. Thank you so much for keeping them in your thoughts.
Our Scoop--She has started telling some lies lately.... I'm very glad this time she didn't!
A Girl Named Me--Well, "best ideas" might not be the term I'd give it :) but it sure was hilarious!
Too funny, brings back memories...some that my teenage son wishes we forgot!
We figure we have to use them as leverage, especially since he's just entered the dating world!
Omg - too funny!!! I couldn't have kept a straight face either!
