PJs

I love footed PJs. Not for myself, of course--for my kids. They're practical (no socks falling off feet) and adorable. The thin knit ones are just the right weight, even during the summer. When we stopped swaddling Zoodle a few weeks ago, it was exciting to start using little footed jammies for him.

When Chickie hit 12 months or so, it was suddenly a lot easier to find two-piece jammies than my preferred one-piece variety. But I could still find the good stuff at Carter's and Children's Place. At Christmas I even got matching drop-seat PJs from Pajama Gram for Chickie and her cousin Molly. (Cute but expensive--and not the best quality.)

Chickie will be three in January. Am I still subjecting her to such juvenile jammies? Here she is this morning:

(Lovely pose, isn't it?)

As you can see if you look closely at her left heel, her size 2T PJs are wearing out. She's starting to outgrow them too. 3Ts, here we come.

I think I'll keep putting Chickie in these practical jammies as long as I can get away with it. I can just imagine her therapy sessions when she reaches adulthood. "Why can't I seem to grow up? I don't know, but my mom was still dressing me in footed sleepers at the age of 17...."

You know what I got for Christmas last year...adult size footsies jammies. I was so excited until I slept in them one night. I'm pretty sure I sweated off about 5 lbs by morning. Sadly my children won't wear anything on their feet while they sleep so feeties p.j.s are out in this house :(

I just got Abby a bunch of Carter's 3T footed pajamas at Costco! of course, they are fleece which may be too warm down in Texas - but since it's already freezing in our house at night, Abby has been wearing them every night. She gets soooo excited. I'll be so sad when she's too big for footie pajamas!!

Children's Place has some nice footed jammies that are a lightweight cotton. Paige dug hers out of her jammy drawer last night. At least the girls are in good company, right?

Just wait until you're trying to get Ana out of those to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night! We like our 2pc PJs here at our house.

Hmm, Gabriel, I hadn't even thought of the potty thing. I mean, I certainly hope she's PT'd before she grows out of 3Ts. I may have to succumb to the 2-piece PJs. Thanks for that insight!

We just got Molly her fall/winter footie PJs - they are Carters, but the thicker fleecy ones, and they are 2T. It was weird; Babies R Us had tons of sizes up to 18 months, and then tons of 3T and even 4T. But only two lone pairs of 2T. So she got one girls' pair and one boys' pair!
