Soggy MP3 player--an update

Well, I thought that the MP3 player I washed in my jeans pocket was gone for good. I soaked it for days in rice, and I couldn't get it to work.

When I saw a fantastic deal on Amazon for a different player last week (limited time, limited quantity, sold out in minutes), I congratulated myself for acting quickly enough to get it.

I received the player, and Tuesday I took it out of its box and charged it. Yesterday I loaded a bunch of podcasts on it, and began listening.

Later in the day I started packing up the original player, figuring I'd try it out a few months from now to see if it magically worked. And then it hit me--what if the battery was dead?

I know, I know, I really should have thought of this earlier. But I didn't.

I plugged it into the computer, and...

I now have two functional MP3 players.

And I'm thinking I'm not as tech-savvy as I believed....

Just look at it as back-up for when something happens to one of them. Err, not that that would happen againm right? Is that just in my world?

Congrats on hitting 100 followers - yea!

Maybe you can download some kid songs onto one of them and let Chickie have it. She'll be the coolest almost 3 year old on the block.

At least you thought of checking the batteries before your husband suggested it. I can guarantee that's what would have happened at my house!

I thought that kind of thing only happened to me! I feel so much better ... thanks Beth!

Have you told us what podcasts you listen to?

I listen to That's What She Said, The Office podcast.

Lyndsay--Aww, thanks for noticing my follower milestone! Yay!

Kerri--Actually, while Chickie would have fun with it, The Engineer is going to make good use of it. Now we're BOTH in the 21st century!:)

Tiffany--Ha! The Engineer made me feel better by telling me he wouldn't have thought of the batteries. Yay! He handled this whole thing SO well!

Crazy Mo--No problem; I'm glad to give you a chance to identify with my ditziness! :)

Sasha--There's an Office podcast? Cool, cool, cool!!! I'm totally subscribing to it.

I washed MY MP3 player that TOM left in HIS pants last week! (I really blame myself for not checking his pockets. Haven't I learned anything from the 6 dozen chapsticks that have made their way through not only the washer but the dryer as well? Or the little teeny stick thingamajigs you can download stuff from your computer on. - Yep, I'm a techie!! LOL!) Grrrr!!

He told me not to turn it on and he would fix it. It's still sitting on the counter awaiting his heroics. Should I just take matters into my own hands and turn it on? Hmmmm???
