By the time we get past the holidays plus our anniversary and Chickie's birthday, we really don't feel like doing a big Valentine's celebration.  So February 14 this year may not have been a day of pure romance, but it was a day of pure love...

,...me and my three Valentines.

Beautiful photos, Beth - and I love the blanket fort and the face of such glee - A wonderful reflection of your fun weekend, thank you!

We do Valentine's Day as a "Family Fun Day." We spent ours at my almost 4 year old's dance class, then directly to the Children's Museum (where we also had lunch), then home for a little rest, then dinner out (a rare treat these days) with my husband's dad. It was a perfect kid day!! And husband surprised me with flowers- 2 dozen roses- delivered to me at work on Thursday!!

A wonderful story! I can't imagine any better way to celebrate Valentine's Day. After your children are grown, there will be plenty of time for "candlelight dinners." It's great that you are savoring these moments, and recording them here, so that you're children and grandchildren will be able to read them!

Too funny. We made a blanket fort yesterday too (and it's still up this morning). Looks like you guys had a great family day together!

Yay for blanket forts!! I can't wait til my little man is as excited as I am about stuff like that. We had a family bike ride on Valentine's Day. First one for the little man, handled it like a trooper. My legs on the other hand, not so good.

Even with elaborate planning, I am not sure you could top a day like that!

Wonderful! Sounds like a perfect Valentine's Day to me. Liked the action shots of the Engineer at the park! Love the forts - those are a staple at our house too :) Love the ring pop! Those are the best. But absolutely love Chickie's fingernails. She looks SO grown up!
