Chickie asked me this question, and I thought it would be an easy way for her to entertain herself. It ended up being quite an adventure, complete with...
...water flowing directly on the doll's head and face, followed by Chickie's sympathetic voice asking, "Aww, did you get water in your eyes?"
...full immersion of the baby.
...and Lion King moments.
Chickie also used the opportunity to "wash" her own hair with wet hands, and to splash amazing quantities of water on the floor.
When that got boring, she ran into the living room and grabbed a teddy bear that she named, on the spot, "Snook" (rhymes with "kook," not "cook.") Apparently Snook needed a bath too.
My favorite (?) part about that scene is the poor, forgotten dolly floating facedown in the water.
Then, as I sat in the living room, I heard Chickie's smiling voice saying, "Mommy, I'm stuck!"
Before I got her out, she'd sat in the full sink, managing to get herself and the floor that much wetter.
After I dried off the tile and counters, and changed Chickie, Snook needed to be dried.
Sure, the dolly bath...and bear bath...and little girl bath...made a big mess, but it was also really easy to clean up. I think this is an activity we'll be repeating!

At least she stuck to dolls and bears and herself instead of submerging Zoodle. Looks like a good time to me!
I agree...the doll floating face down in the sink is the best picture! It's amazing what fun can be had at the kitchen sink. Anthony thinks he's hit the lottery when I let him stand at the sink and play with water and my measuring cups.
love the new blog look! You did a great job.
Well, it's nice to get your version of Snook's bath after Chickie telling me her version yesterday! She didn't even mention the dolly's bath. Maybe she's trying to forget that she left her floating face down.
She'll probably always remember that you let her do it like you've always remembered Grandma letting you and the others play in the mudhole at her house! Fun times!
Lion King!!! That brought the literal LOLs.
Sounds like y'all had fun!! P.S. I love that dress she has on in the last picture!
Too funny. I'm curious as to the fate of the bear. Did it survive? Will it ever be the same again?
Adorable fun!
Thanks for the laugh! I needed one today, and I'm so glad I peeked in to check out your blog.
Looks like she had a blast!
I love it...especially Chickie caring for her doll :-). ...very girly indeed :-)
Love the new look! Especially like how huge the pictures are! That is one thing I wish were different about mine! Love the pics of Chickie. I feel like she has grown a lot recently! I like how you let her do it her way and get all wet!
My mother would let us do things like this and those memories are what I remember most of my childhood and that I can't wait to do with Ellie.
PS Love both the dresses that she is wearing!
Aww she's adorable, and I love how the baby was forgotten for the teddy bear! So cute!
Brings back memories of my little cheerdaughter! She did the same thing, but cried because we couldn't stop laughing! These are sweet pics. Cherish these memories because they grow up in a hurry.
She looks so serious about (and pleased with) her work! Totally not batting an eye at the camera shots being taken before getting her outta the sink. That photo HAD to be seen! She is precious.
I love that dress she has on in the last picture!
Hee hee, when I was little I wanted to give MY bears a bath but mom said no. Then when I got a little older I could only spray them with a spray bottle
I'd like to fuck your daughter
THOSE PRETTY LEGS, LIKE TO GET BETWEEN THEM.
