Hard workin' man

The Engineer has been hard at work lately. He (with help from a fantastic friend, a fellow engineer) put together a playscape for the kids. It was a lot of work. I love it!

And what does Chickie think? Well, I'll let you judge that for yourself.

The Engineer has also been hard at work training his body. Monday morning, he got up early and did his first triathlon.

I'm proud of my hard workin' man!

Aaaah. A playscape. It all becomes clear. How fantastic. It looks marvelous I bet Zoodle can't wait to take part in all that big kid fun. I think if my little man found that in his back yard he would just about pop. We went to a big playground across the motorway from us on the weekend and he just couldn't stop running from contraption to contraption even when he was so tired he looked like a drunk sailor. Poor little man, didn't even bat an eye when we got in the stroller to go home. And he almost completely drained his big straw cup on the 10 minute walk home. Yay for summer!

And way to go, Engineer! For Tri-ing and for constructing.

A playscape and a triathalon, what will the Engineer do next? He's a hard working man!

Wow! You really should be proud of him!

I love the play set. And I'm in awe of his athletic ability.

Wow, now THAT's a playscape. Back when I was a kid, walking uphill to school both ways in the snow, we had one of those metal ones that tipped when you went too high. Good times!

Congrats to the Engineer. He's accomplished a lot!

Fun! That playscape is amazing - I bet your kids (and their friends when they come over) are in heaven. When I was a kid we had one that tipped when we swung too high also - that brought back memories!

And kudos to Engineer - you must be very proud. :)

Am i crazy or didn't you get that set last year? I seem to recall a great sale. We're looking for one and they are almost dbl what you paid, if you got the one you mentioned last year, that is.

Heather--I wish your little man could come play on this with my kiddos!

silver star--Well, tonight The Engineer diffused a HUGE tantrum, so he continues his hard workin' ways!

Sandra--I am very proud! :)

Lara--Actually, I'm having fun playing with Chickie on the playscape!

Eternal Lizdom--I know, doesn't he look great in that pic? He's gotten slimmer and his legs have gotten more muscular. Very nice.

Call Me Cate--No way, hearing about your path to and from school, I'm guessing you lived in the exact same city as my dad did when he was growing up!

Dani--Thank you in advance for the award! :)

Janell--Wish you guys lived closer and could come over so your kiddos could play with mine!

Beki--We are very blessed!

caryn--I hope it lasts through lots of years. The Engineer has already gotten a good, waterproof stain to use on it, to help the wood stay in good shape.

Rachel--Oh, I'm working on the decathlon! Hope any nearby pigs are also working on their flying skills. :)

JL--Ha! Um, yeah, we've discussed this over e-mail. It only took 10 months to get built; that's only 4 months longer than it took for our house to be built!

Rebecca--Actually it's from Toys "R" Us! There was a sale--we got it last summer, but it was in our garage in boxes until recently.

RebeccaMA--Thank you! We're having fun!

Deanna--I am very proud of him! He's hoping to do his next tri on Labor Day.

Laurel--I hope we do get lots of use out of it over the next few years!

Our Scoop--Oh, man, it was so many pieces!! SO much time!
