Her response was new yet frighteningly automatic.
"Why not?"
I think I'm going to hear that phrase a lot in the next 16 years....

Nice. We just hear, "why?" with that lovely whine. He's starting to answer his own "why" now with a "cuz" as he knows when I've hit my limit of demanding children!

Uh-oh. We're in a No phase, so that's all I hear right now. Peppered with the occasionaly, "I'm not comin'"
At this point I wold welcome the oncoming "Why" phase!
My favorite is "I don't want to", right after "I don't want ______insert thing he begged for seconds earlier______."
I jest that he's the most two, two-year-old I've ever met.
