Chickie's room: The valance

I finished the valance for Chickie's window! Here it is, with Chickie.

It is very imperfect, but thankfully it looks pretty good from far away! Just don't get too close....

As I looked at the not-so-smooth edges of the butterflies and flowers, I kept imagining Project Runway's Tim Gunn or Michael Kors saying with a disapproving frown, "It looks home-sewn."

But, hey, it is home-sewn! And thankfully, Chickie likes my amateur work!

That looks awesome to me! Great job! It makes me want a sewing machine that much more.

I was going to suggest that due to her teensy stature, maybe Chickie's so impressed because she's viewing from "far away"! Which is a win for you because once she grows tall enough to see it "close up", she'll probably be ready for a change!

Seriously though, it looks really adorable. And props to you for giving so much of yourself to decorating your kids' rooms rather than just buying a completely pre-fabricated set and tossing it in there. That valance screams "love".
