I did it--my first crocheted project!
I used the Easy Ribbed Scarf pattern from Tracie Barrett. It's free here!
It was a good pattern for a beginner. I didn't know how to do one of the stitches, so I found some instructions and videos online. The stitches aren't perfect, but they got more even as I went.
I'm looking forward to my next project--a scarf for Chickie with yarn that she picked out! It'll be so fun to wear these scarves...in about five months. Sigh.

Very Nice :-).!
Wow, that turned out great! What's next?
It's good you did it now, if you waited until closer to winter you may not have finished it in time...depending on your level of motivation, I guess. It sure is great how you can learn everything online!
How beautiful! Before we know it you'll be opening up your own Etsy shop!! ;-D It's very pretty!
Nice scarf! I love the colors!
I'm glad you acknowledged the timing. But because you did, I have nothing witty to say. Nice job!
I am super impressed. My first (and only) crocheted item was a mess. It was a scarf and I messed up the gauge so badly that when I was done the scarf twisted around in a spiral.
Good for you. Its impressive! My first crochet project (at least 30 years ago) took me three months to finish and when it was done it was the most-misshapen, pathetic mess on the planet. My first project became my last project!! You are a crafter. I am not!
very nice, with so many crocheting plans you'll have to join us on Tuesday nights at B&N. Many people you know and some you don't that would love to catch up with you.
the colors in your scarf look so beautiful on you, you did a great job Beth. Cant believe this is your first project.
