The Engineer earned the title "Bob the Builder", bestowed by Chickie, this weekend. He spent several hours putting together these awesome IKEA bookshelves. Isn't he great?
I love the way they look--and I also love that he filled them with books, which means these boxes are now empty and won't be sitting around upstairs anymore!
Unfortunately, Bob still has a Honey Do List. Alert the Mommy Police; Zoodle's nursery is not yet done. Okay, I'll be honest, it hasn't been started. We've got a lovely IKEA dresser that has to be assembled, and a bed he needs to assemble for Chickie so the crib can be moved into Zoodle's room. Then I need to do some sewing and decorating. By the time he's a teenager, I promise, his nursery will be complete.
And I haven't even mentioned the awesome playscape that is in boxes in our garage. This is what it will look like when complete--minus all those awesome trees (bummer), and minus several children (thank goodness):
Poor Bob; this thing will take him days to put together. But he's waiting until the weather is nicer to start--if Bob the Builder gets heatstroke, America's toddler population will be devastated.
I love my handy husband! "Can he build it? YES, HE CAN!"

we need some of those book shelves! we need an IKEA too! can you order them on-line? our book boxes are STILL in the attic after being at our new house for a year and a half! love the new playset... Ana will love it!!!! Go Jason!!!!
Hilarious! LOVE the bookshelves. Nice work Bob! Did you wear your nifty hard hat and converse with Lofty, Roley, Skip, Scoop, Dizzy, Muck and Scrambler?? Ok - scary that I know all those off the top of my head. If Jason is Bob - does that make Beth Wendy?? Just curious! Love the playset too! It looks really hard though. I bet the bag of bolts/screws/etc is HUGE!
Can I have the empty boxes :-)!
By the way, Yay for Jason...they do look great!
Good job, Bob! Those look great. I can't wait until the swingset is up. Paige would have bugged Ronnie to death by now. Seriously, he would have tempted heated stroke to get it up and for her to quit asking about it!
Like the saying, "If you build it, they will come" -- perhaps THAT's why Jason hasn't built it yet - your backyard WILL look like the pic-(minus the trees)
Hey, when he's done with that playscape, I have a few things for him to do in my house!
we have those same bookshelves and LOVE them, too! and, we'd love a backyard playland. we haven't decided on what to do yet. right now we're remodeling portions of our kitchen. like you, i LOVE having a handy husband! i'll be sure to post before and after pics when it's done (can we say months?!)
