We moved into a brand new house two years ago, and like most brand new houses in our part of the country, the trees in the yard consisted of three sticks with leaves. They've grown a bit, but they're still small, and they don't have many leaves to shed.
So you'll understand when I tell you that yesterday Chickie asked me enthusiastically, "Mommy, can I jump in this pile of leaves?" and this is the pile she was so excited about....
so cute! my kids can'twait till there's enough leaves for their crash piles
ReplyDeleteIf you every want more, just let me know. We get about 8 garbage bags full every year. Of course, you will have to wait until late November/early december to get them to fall around here.....

We have many leaves Chickie is welcome to play in but I can understand her excitement at such a small pile. Whenever you are "without", the small things seem like such joys. You just have to take her somewhere (Boston maybe?) that she can be in awe of a real pile of leaves. It might just blow her little mind!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Sweet Son #1 displayed similar enthusiasm when he realized fall was here. "I can rake the leaves and The Manimal and I can jump in them." Our house is 8 years old, and I'll tell you that the trees don't grow all THAT quickly! :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny! It really is the little things!
ReplyDeleteSo precious!!! Love the photo.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! That's the one main thing I miss about New England. I have to tell you, that expression on Chickie's face looks SO much like The Engineer, it's cracking me up!
ReplyDeleteBeth- That's adorable! We always have more leaves here than we can rake in one season. You're welcome to jump in our leaves anytime!

Holy colour-coordinated, Batman! Chickie's sweater is pink, her socks are pink, her glasses are pink and, by jove, even the leaves look pink! That's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteYou tell Chickie if she wants to rake them into piles she can come over to our house anytime of the year and play in the leaves (heck, your more than welcome to bag up as many as you want and take them home with you, lol), we ALWAYS have a ton of leaves (even after we have just raked).
