I did my first 10K, and it was fun!
I mean, it wasn't all fun. It was particularly hard at the end. But it went great--better than I expected it to. I ran the whole way, and I averaged 10:55 a mile. (If you'd like to read more details from the race, check out my running blog.)
Ready for the cheesiest race picture ever?

Meeting this goal felt so amazing, and this is a day I'll always remember. I had no idea when I started running that it would be so immensely rewarding to me--not just the changes in my body, but the sense of accomplishment and well-being. It's incredible!
Hey, congratulations! That's a great milestone, I bet it felt amazing to finish :D
ReplyDeleteWay to go! It wasn't that long ago that you started to run and now look at you. You should be proud.

ReplyDeleteOh, the blinding cheese!!! That's a great photo. I love that you're smiling instead of scowling and flipping someone off (which I saw a lady do when her husband? tried to take a photo of her crossing the finish line - I guess she was tired). And I love that you've set these goals for yourself and that you're doing such a great job of achieving them.
ReplyDeleteYou did it!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so proud to know you and be your friend! You are one motivatin' mama!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Beth! 10k's are tough, but what amazing endurance you're building.
ReplyDeleteI'm never showing my thighs. That alone shows how brave and tough you are.
Good for you!! the only "K" I typically want to have anything to do with has 24 or 401 in front of it. :) Well done!
ReplyDeleteHave an Extraordinary Day!
Wow - kudos to you! I still remember the amazing sense of accomplishment when I ran my first 10K as well!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That's an awesome accomplishment and definitely a great example to set for your kiddos!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS, BETH!!!!! I am VERY excited for you!! Congratulations on this accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!! And my retinas are still intact, thank GOD!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great feeling, isn't it? I ran a 5K with my friend a couple of years ago; it was for breast cancer. I remember hearing her say, as we rounded the corner to the finish line, "Smile!" I'm so glad she said that because there were tons of cameras snapping away as the runners crossed the line. A 10K is a big deal and something to be proud of. Congratulations, C Beth!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Job!!!! You motivate me to want to start running again after this baby is born :)
